There is no need to use three different actions to shut your computer down. Normally, you might press Start, then Shut Down, then OK.

If your computer supports the following action, this will make it possible to shut down by simply pressing the Power Button on your tower.

Minimise this page, and on your desktop, right click anywhere on the screen and select Properties.

(Use the Task bar link to keep restoring and minimising this page)

Click on the Screensaver tab and you get this box:

Click on the Power tab in the bottom right hand corner, and then you get this box:

Click on the Advanced tab to see the above box. Choose Shut Down from the drop-down menu and press Apply.

If your keyboard has a Sleep button, this is where you configure it to do whatever you would like it to do. You may choose Hibernate, but make sure that Hibernation is enabled by pressing the Hibernate tab and making sure that there is a tick in the box.

(Hibernate is where the computer effectively shuts down, but when you press the Power button on your tower to bring it back to life, it opens Windows faster than a normal boot up).

If the Apply button is showing bold, click it and then press OK. Close the window and that's it!

Now, when you want to shut down/hibernate the computer it is a simple one touch operation.
