Do those balloon tips that keep popping up annoy you?  If you want to stop then appearing, here's how to do it.

Press Windows Logo + R (or Start and then Run) and type in: regedit

Press OK

Open the following folders in turn using the + at the side of the folder. If you click on the folder and not the +,  you won't get where you want to be.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software /  Microsoft / Windows / Current Version / Explorer

Now click ON the Advanced folder to open up its contents in the right hand pane.

Anywhere where there is a blank space, right click your mouse and select NEW  and then DWord Value

At the bottom of the list you will see a new box with the words "New Value #1" highlighted.

Just type in the following word as it appears here, without spaces: EnableBalloonTips

Even though you are telling it to ENABLE them, they won't show up because the value it is automatically set to is 0 (zero) which means it is turned off.

Just close the whole window in your normal way and that has put a stop to them appearing in future.
